Shannon is a fine art photographer, she has a collaborative organization called Hypha that deals with permaculture, urban building, herbalism, and Pacific Northwest Native plants. Shannon has worked at The Showbox Theatre in downtown Seattle for 17 years, and most recently is the founder of an organization called Friends of the Showbox in Seattle.

In their conversation Shannon and Maris talk about The Showbox Theatre and Friends of the Showbox, the ecology of cities, the importance of historic places and building sustainable networks.
